The Spanish Government offers two options for foreign individuals to gain residency in Spain:
SPANISH GOLDEN VISA
The Spanish Golden Visa Scheme is designed to attract foreign investment and stimulate the property market and economy.
REAL ESTATE
MINIMUM INVESTMENT - €500,000
As part of the application for a Golden Visa, investors are required to make an investment of at least €500,000 in Spanish real estate. The investors are free to buy several properties (Residential, Commercial or plots) as long as they reach the minimum investment required. In addition, several different investors may invest in the same property. Each investor will qualify under the program in the event that each investor reaches €500 K investment.
Please note that investors can purchase more than one property, residential, commericial, or plots as long as the total value of all properties meets the minimum investment required.
SPANISH DIGITAL NOMAD VISA
The programme is designed for remote workers and freelancers from outside the EU who are either self-employed or who are employed by a company outside of Spain, with the intent to relocate to Spain.

MINIMUM INVESTMENT - N/A
Applicants to this programme must:
- Have been working for the foreign company or clients for at least 3 months prior to the application.
- Have a contract with the foreign company or clients that extends at least 1 year into the future.
- Demonstrate 3 years of work-related experience or a degree from a reputable institution.
- Have no criminal records or entry ban to Spain.
- Obtain private health insurance with full coverage in Spain.
- Have a minimum income of €30,240 / year for a Single Application. An additional €11,010.53 / year for the first additional family member, and €3,670 / year for each additional applicant.
The freelancer must:
- Work with at least one foreign company.
- The foreign company must have been operating for at least 1 year prior to the application.
- Prove that the foreign company allows them to work remotely in Spain.
Please note that self-employed applicants may also work for a company located in Spain provided the percentage of this work does not exceed 20% of the total amount of their professional activity.
